Everyone wears a mask whether they know it or not. As we go through life we create masks to hide what the pain and hurt we feel inside. I welcome you the the masquerade. Let us give you a taste of what is to come. Shall we begin enjoy the party.

What is the Masquerade itself: It is a game played by those who can call on their masks to use in combat with one another. These masks serve a purpose for if you are defeated and your mask is taken you die. The masks can be a variety of forms and shapes whether they are animals, demons, beasts, or a personification of something. They grant the user a psuedo immortality that will be no more if they loose their mask. Anyone at any stage of life can be a masquerade player from a newborn babe to an age old person. The mask grants you powers based on its form and the fact is you are no longer human if you don the mask.

Characters as of now:

Deavin Lucid: Main character is of medium build, stands about 5'11, has mid length brown hair, has blue eyes, tends to wear darker clothing, born to a family that is long full of users and players of the Masquerade. Is about 21 years of age and is formally trained in the ways of the masquerade. He wears the black wolf mask a symbol for his nature and personality. His mask grants him the ability of enhanced reflexes, sight, sound, and taste, as well as granting him a minor amount of shadow powers. If there are any shadows near him he can meld with the shadows and can see in any darkness no matter how bleak. He plays the game to enjoy it and for sport he never kills an honest foe. His family stands as a beacon for what is right in the world of Masquerade and he detests those that would use their powers to harm those who are not of the Masquerade. Is a strong willed and confident person.

Eira Lindt: Next major character in the series. Of normal build more of an agile person then a strong one. Has cropped black hair and wears darker clothing. Has blue eyes and a pechant for not trusting people.  Is an orphan and being used by rogue Masquerade players. She is 24 years of age. Wears the Ocelot mask it gives her superior agility and the grace of a cat. Also it grants the user night vision and enhanced senses. She also is very hard to knock over and has excellent balance. Is a strong willed and stubborn women.

A note on masks when you take another mask and absorb it you either gain greater power or it mods a previous ability to greater strength.
So this is my first intro for you all into the world of Masquerade more to come soon just wanted to give you all a taste of it to show you what I have in the works.
